ACE Wellness Center is seeking a Clinical Director to provide strategic, clinical, and administrative leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and effective behavioral health services. This position focuses on program development, clinical excellence, leadership development, operational oversight, and organizational strategy. The Clinical Director works collaboratively with executive leadership, directors, supervisors, and clinical teams to strengthen programs, develop leaders, improve outcomes, and support the continued growth of the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Clinical & Administrative Oversight
- Provide overall clinical and administrative oversight of behavioral health programs and services.
- Ensure clinical services, documentation, treatment planning, and service delivery meet organizational, regulatory, payer, and professional standards.
- Establish and monitor expectations for clinical quality, productivity, documentation, client outcomes, and continuity of care.
- Identify clinical and operational concerns and collaborate with leadership to implement corrective and preventive strategies.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and revision of clinical policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of care.
Program Development & Quality Improvement
- Lead the development, implementation, evaluation, and expansion of clinical programs based on client needs, organizational goals, community needs, and evidence-based practices.
- Evaluate existing programs for effectiveness, quality, sustainability, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop clinical workflows, service models, interventions, and programming that support measurable client outcomes.
- Utilize data, audits, client outcomes, staff feedback, and organizational trends to drive continuous quality improvement.
- Support new program launches and ensure appropriate clinical infrastructure, staffing, training, and oversight are established.
Leadership & Staff Development
- Provide leadership, consultation, mentorship, and accountability to clinical supervisors and other designated leaders.
- Develop supervisors’ ability to effectively manage staff performance, clinical quality, team morale, conflict resolution, and professional development.
- Identify leadership potential within the organization and create opportunities for staff advancement and professional growth.
- Ensure clinical supervisors provide consistent, effective supervision and appropriately address performance or clinical concerns.
- Promote a positive, accountable, solution-focused culture across clinical programs.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, retention, and development of qualified clinical professionals.
Organizational Strategy
- Participate in strategic planning and assist executive leadership in establishing short- and long-term clinical and organizational priorities.
- Translate organizational goals into measurable clinical and operational objectives.
- Identify opportunities for service expansion, program improvement, community partnerships, and organizational growth.
- Collaborate with administrative, compliance, operations, and executive leadership to ensure clinical priorities align with the organization’s overall mission and strategy.
- Participate in leadership meetings and provide recommendations regarding clinical operations, staffing, program development, risk management, and organizational needs.
Compliance & Performance Management
- Maintain knowledge of applicable behavioral health regulations, accreditation requirements, payer expectations, and professional standards.
- Partner with compliance and leadership teams to address deficiencies, corrective action plans, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Monitor key clinical performance indicators and ensure leadership responds appropriately to identified trends or concerns.
- Ensure clinical teams maintain required credentials, competencies, training, and professional development.
- Promote ethical decision-making, client-centered care, professional boundaries, and organizational accountability.
Qualifications & Core Competencies
- Appropriate master’s-level behavioral health degree and applicable professional licensure.
- Clinical supervisory credential preferred or required based on organizational needs and applicable regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in behavioral health leadership, clinical supervision, and program development.
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership development, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of behavioral health regulations, documentation standards, evidence-based practices, and quality improvement.
- Ability to lead through organizational change while maintaining clinical quality and staff accountability.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and multidisciplinary communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs, priorities, and leadership responsibilities.
Staff Training & Professional Development
- Assess individual and team training needs based on performance, supervision feedback, documentation reviews, clinical trends, program needs, and identified skill gaps.
- Develop and coordinate targeted trainings, coaching, and professional development opportunities based on identified staff needs.
- Collaborate with supervisors to create individualized development plans for staff requiring additional clinical or professional support.
- Ensure staff receive ongoing education related to evidence-based practices, clinical documentation, behavioral interventions, crisis management, ethics, and other areas relevant to their roles.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of trainings and determine when additional coaching, retraining, or competency development is needed.
- Identify opportunities for cross-training, leadership development, continuing education, and advancement within the organization.
- Maintain a culture of continuous learning by ensuring training initiatives align with program goals, client needs, compliance requirements, and organizational priorities.
