Ace Wellness Center, a mental health agency, is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and safety-conscious Passenger Transportation Driver to provide transportation for children, adolescents, and adults participating in our mental health programs.
This position is an important part of the client’s overall care experience. Our drivers are responsible not only for providing safe and reliable transportation, but also for helping create a safe, calm, supportive, and therapeutic environment throughout each transportation route.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in behavioral health, mental health, social services, youth services, education, or another related setting. The driver should be comfortable interacting with clients who may experience emotional or behavioral challenges and must be able to communicate with clients in a professional, respectful, patient, and therapeutically appropriate manner.
Drivers are expected to maintain appropriate professional boundaries, use supportive communication and redirection techniques, remain calm during challenging situations, and communicate significant concerns to the appropriate clinical or supervisory staff. Drivers do not provide clinical treatment but serve as an important extension of the supportive environment provided by ACE Wellness Center.
The successful candidate will be conscientious, caring, patient, dependable, responsible, and attentive to detail, with an excellent driving record and strong communication skills.

Driver Responsibilities & Duties
- Safely transport children, adolescents, and adults to and from ACE Wellness Center, schools, homes, and other designated locations.
- Provide transportation according to assigned routes and schedules.
- Create and maintain a safe, calm, supportive, and therapeutic environment during transportation.
- Communicate with clients in a patient, respectful, professional, and therapeutically appropriate manner.
- Build positive rapport with clients while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Remain calm and professional when clients experience emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Utilize appropriate redirection, de-escalation, and supportive communication techniques when necessary.
- Follow client-specific transportation and behavioral support instructions provided by the clinical or supervisory team.
- Promptly communicate behavioral, emotional, safety, or other significant concerns to the appropriate ACE Wellness Center staff.
- Maintain client confidentiality and protect client privacy at all times.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers throughout each route.
- Assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle when needed.
- Perform required vehicle inspections before and after each route.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and mechanically sound vehicle.
- Obey all traffic laws and applicable transportation and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate transportation and route documentation.
- Attend regularly scheduled safety meetings and trainings.
- Communicate professionally with clients, families, schools, and ACE Wellness Center staff.
- Follow all ACE Wellness Center policies and procedures.
Driver Qualifications & Skills
- Behavioral health, mental health, social services, youth services, education, or related experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working directly with children, adolescents, adults, or individuals with behavioral or emotional needs preferred.
- Ability to communicate with clients in a calm, respectful, supportive, and therapeutic manner.
- Ability to remain composed and respond appropriately to challenging behaviors or emotional situations.
- Understanding of appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Ability to use basic redirection and de-escalation techniques.
- Clean driving record with no significant traffic violations or citations within the last five years.
- No at-fault traffic accidents within the last five years.
- One or more years of passenger transportation or school bus driving experience preferred; training may be provided for the right candidate.
- Ability to follow assigned routes and maintain timely transportation schedules.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Dependable, punctual, responsible, and attentive to detail.
- Ability to work independently while following established policies and procedures.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time and assist passengers as needed.
- Must meet all applicable requirements for transporting clients.
